Graduate Engineer Rotation Program

Graduate Engineers are given the opportunity to rotate through the various departments which make up Dashiell and Dacon.  Rotation includes the following opportunities:

 Engineering

  • Industrial Customer Substation and Distribution Design
  • Utility Customer Substation and Distribution Design
  • Transmission Line Design
  • Electrical System Studies

Development of specifications, bills of materials, and scope documents for turn-key and engineering-only projects.  Conceptual design, detail design (protection/controls, physical, structural), electrical and structural calculations, and protective relaying coordination.

Field Service

Testing, commissioning, and start-up of high-voltage and medium-voltage apparatus, substations, and associated protective relaying systems.

Project Management

Construction management, procurement/expediting of materials, management of subcontracts, progress reporting, safety coordination, and QA/QC for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.

Dacon

Installation of high-voltage substations, switchyards, and distribution systems.  Estimating, management of resources, scheduling, and QA/QC of construction projects.

Sales

Project development, project estimating, interface with key clients to develop project scopes, project proposals, and project controls.

Rotations generally last 18 to 24 months and give Graduate Engineers a unique 360? perspective into today’s booming power industry.  The hands-on field experience combined with detail engineering, project management and sales experience provides individuals invaluable exposure to high-voltage projects.  Our Graduate Engineers are equipped with the tools they need to succeed and lead in the industry.
